Final Nebraska Points for 2017

The 2017 racing season in the state of Nebraska came to an end on Sunday October 22nd with the annual Barb Nunnekamp Memorial at the Junction Motor Speedway. However, when the track released the results on its Facebook page they noted that the B-Mod results would be posted later so I had to wait until they were up to complete the tally and it was a good thing that I did!

These points are calculated in the same manner as the All Iowa Points using a 5-point scale for all feature races held at tracks in the state of Nebraska.

Josh Leonard is this year's high point man in the Late Model division posting fifteen feature wins in twenty-five top five finishes. In the Modifieds a pair of former IMCA National Champions from Beatrice lead the way in Jordan Grabouski and Johnny Saathoff. Grabouski seemed to cut back on his schedule this year, but he still scored fourteen feature wins in twenty-two top fives while Saathoff had one more top five finish with six wins.

With his win in the final race of the year at the Junction Motor Speedway Austin Svoboda climbs over Trent Roth by just two points to take the Limited Modified title. It was Austin's eighth win of the year and his fortieth top five. Roth was impressive in second with forty-four top fives and six feature wins while Shawn Harker was a close third with twelve feature wins on his resume.

In the combined standings for the Winged Sprint Cars former World of Outlaws regular Jason Martin became the man to beat late in the season in the Racesaver 305's and his five feature wins propelled him to the top of the list.
