With the Titans Legends series race for Late Models wiped out by weather on Saturday night, the 2025 racing season in the state of Arkansas has come to a close and we can now present our versions of the " State Championship" where we use a standard 5-point scale for all events held on tracks in the state. This is our ninth year of doing this and 2025 yielded three first-time champions out of the five divisions.
Louisiana based drivers racing at Texarkana's 67 Speedway rule the podium in the Limited Modified division with Coty Tupper leading the winning twice in twelve top fives. While his point total here in Arkansas may not be overly impressive, Tupper's results on tracks in other states will likely put him the top ten of our Back Stretch National Points coming up later this month. Conner Williams takes the second spot with five wins in thirteen top fives with Colby Williams right behind him as a four time winner in nine top fives.
Keith Ainsworth was a distant runner-up in the Arkansas Points last season, but with his six wins in nine top fives he earns his first state title in 2025. Corey Bailey comes up just two markers shy in second with one victory in ten top fives while the two-time defending champion Derek Hagar settles for third with four wins in eight top fives.
We have a new champion in the Late Models as well with Eric Perry posting seven feature wins in eighteen top fives to take the honors. Perry ranked fifteenth here in 2024. Multi-division star Kanyan Methvin takes second and would have been in contention if his home track had not shut down prematurely. He still scored four wins in eleven top fives on the season. Third goes to Mark Nichols who returned to action after sitting out the 2024 season as he was a five time winner in ten top fives.
It was a close one, but Carl McDade captured his third straight and fourth overall Arkansas Points title in the Modified class taking six feature wins in fourteen top five finishes. That put him two points to the better of Wesley Wise who actually had one more win with seven, and two more top five finishes at sixteen. Four-time Arkansas Points Late Model Steven Cracker spent more time in a Modified this season and his nine wins in eleven top fives vaulted him to third in the final standings.
In the Stock Cars Joe Payne returned to the top of the standings for his second Arkansas Points championship with five wins in sixteen top five finishes. Payne was the champion in 2023 and the runner-up in 2024. Conner Kuykendall is the runner-up with three wins in eight top fives while Dustin Stuart locks down third with one win in eleven top fives.
