Stock Car Best of the Midwest Title to John Oliver Jr.

After placing fourth in 2023 and second in 2024, John Oliver Jr. moves to the top of the list of our Best of the Midwest Stock Car standings where we pool the points from all fourteen states that we follow using the standard 5-point scale across all events. It is the first BotM honor for Oliver who is now a two-time All Iowa Points champion in the division. 

The 2025 IMCA Stock Car National Champion Kelly Shryock holds down second on this list as Iowa drivers sweep the top six with Mike Albertson, Myles Michehl and Brad Derry next in line, although accumulated a good portion of his 114 points on Missouri tracks.

Fourth Best of the Midwest Title For Brayton Carter in the Limited Modifieds

Make it three in a row and four times overall now that Brayton Carter lands at the top of the list when we pool our points from the fourteen states stretching from Kansas to Indiana and from Minnesota to Texas. The driver from Oskaloosa, Iowa, was also able to capture that elusive IMCA Northern Sport Mod National Championship for the first time in 2025 making for a fantastic season! 

WISSOTA hot shoe Joey Jensen is the distant runner-up with Carter's relative Dylan Van Wyk joining the podium in third. Former Missouri Points champion Jon Sheets used his combined points from his home state, Kansas and Oklahoma to rank fourth while another Iowa driver Dan Hovden completes the top five.

Special mention goes to sixteen-year-old Blake Adams who is listed in eight on this list, but was the Best of the Midwest Champion in the Modifieds as well.

Strong 2025 Season Brings Blake Adams To The Best of the Midwest Modified Title

If you are reading this from WISSOTA country you are already aware of sixteen-year-old Blake Adams as he is the 2025 WISSOTA Modified National Champion and his domination of the division has propelled him to our Best of the Midwest title. 

The son of veteran racer Kevin "Buzzy" Adams also finished third in the WISSOTA National Midwest Mod points standings and as you will see in our BotM rundown for the Limited Mods, Blake also found the top ten there.

Shane Sabraski who was the 2023 Best of the Midwest Modified champion is the 2025 runner-up while this year's All Iowa Points champion Jeremy Mills settles into third. This year's Missouri Points champion Houston Johnson is next in line in fourth while the Illinois Points champion Michael Ledford is fifth.

The Best of the Midwest Points pool the points from the fourteen states that we track using the same 5-point scale for all events. We will follow up soon with the Limited Modifieds and the Stock Cars.

Knoxville Nationals Champion Ryan Timms Earns "Best of the Midwest" Honor For Winged Sprint Cars

It should come as no surprise that young Ryan Timms would have the highest point total for Winged Sprint Car drivers after pooling all fourteen of the states together where we use a standard five point scale to earn his first "Best of the Midwest" title. What is a surprise is that it took the five points that he scored by winning that Nationals feature to put him over the top as World of Outlaws regular Buddy Kofoid comes up just four points shy in second.

Jason Feger Repeats Late Model "Best of the Midwest" Title

For the second year in a row Jason Feger tops our "Best of the Midwest" list for the Late Model division where we roll the state points together from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. It is the fourth year in a row that the "High Side Hustler" has been in the top three of these standings that we have now been presenting for ten years. 

Three-time Best of the Midwest champ Bobby Pierce lands second here, but will be the favorite to take that Back Stretch National title that we will follow up with soon while Tyler Peterson, who was the Best of the Midwest in the Modifieds in 2022, ranks third for the second year in a row after a runner-up finish in 2023.

First time All Iowa Points champion Zach Zeitner lands in fourth while teenage sensation Cade Nelson is fifth.
