Two drivers who have each won three All Iowa Points Late Model championships would slug it out once again to see who would be the first of the two to get to four and when Justin Kay overtook early leader Matt Ryan in late May, the driver from Wheatland would pull away to win that fourth title in convincing fashion. Kay joins Rob Toland who also is a four-time champ while only three drivers have more All Iowa Points Late Model championships and they are Ed Sanger and Gary Webb who each have eight, and Ray Guss Jr. who has seven since the points began in 1967.

Kay captured twenty-one feature wins in his forty-five top five finishes on All Iowa Points paying tracks in 2021 and his first three championships were consecutive from 2013 through 2015. Three-time champion Matt Ryan (2017, 2019-20) was an eleven time feature winner in thirty-six top five finishes to take the runner up position just nine points ahead of Andy Nezworski. It was an improvement of two positions for Nezworski who ranked fifth in 2020 as he won ten times in thirty-six top fives.
Logan Duffy is the youth movement in the class as he lands in fourth for the second year in a row and Omaha's Justin Zeitner is a distant fifth. Oh yes, and speaking of eight-time champ Gary Webb, the seventy-two-year-old driver had one of his best seasons in years winning three times and finishing tied for eighth in the final standings.
The Newcomer of the Year, or the driver who has not scored an All Iowa Point in the division prior to this year is Brandon Rothzen who had a second and a third place finish to tally seven points and that was enough to earn this title, perhaps somewhat of a concern for the division.
