Arment Doubles Up, Johnson, Dobmeier and Wolfgang Also Champs For South Dakota in 2016

After wrapping up a busy week of work and before heading out the door for night number one at the Fall Extravaganza at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson I wanted to give you the first of the nine different state points that I tracked this season. These were all done on the same five-point scale that I use for the All Iowa Points however only the tracks in each given state were counted, nothing that was "just across the border."

The first of those states that is done with racing for the year is South Dakota and it is here that you will find the only driver to to win the state points in two different divisions in the same season. Kent Arment of Aberdeen won eight features on his way to the Late Model title and nineteen main events in his domination of the Modified chase. Veteran driver Lorin Johnson of Miller, a former Late Model racer himself, was the best of the Limited Modified competitors as he scored eleven wins on the season and in the Sprint Car ranks it was Mark Dobmeier in the 410's while Robby Wolfgang was the best across the 360's and 305's. Dobmeier was the track champion at Badlands posting six feature wins while Wolfgang had five wins on the season.
