Kratzer, Bowers, Gottschalk and Cranston Are Sunflower State Stars in 2016

The 2016 Kansas State points were tabulated using the same 5-point scale as the All Iowa Points, but only feature events raced on dirt tracks in the state of Kansas were included.

Crate Late Models compete on a weekly basis at the Salina Speedway and there are special events for both the Crates and the open Late Models at assorted tracks throughout the season. The ULMA Late Models also raced a few times at the Lakeside Speedway. The top three drivers easily distanced themseleves from the rest with Wichita's Chris Kratzer leading the way with eleven feature wins among twenty top-five finishes.

Steven Bowers Jr. edged out IMCA National Champion Jordan Grabouski for the Modified title. Bowers tallied 35 top-five finishes with eleven of those being feature wins while "Grabo" won 19 times out of his 24 top-five finishes. Grabouski was also the Nebraska state champion for 2016.

With 23 feature wins on the season Daniel Gottschalk easily outdistanced the competition in the Limited Modified division while in the winged Sprint Car category, where all engine sizes were combined, URSS champion Luke Cranston was top dog with five feature wins and 23 top-five finishes.
