Events at Montpelier and Circle City this past weekend closed out the 2025 season in the state of Indiana and we can now summarize our Indiana Points here for the tenth season in a row.. As with all of our "state points" they are for fun and comparison using a standard 5-point scale for all events, both weekly and specials. And for 2025, there are plenty of familiar names at the top of each list.
In the Winged Sprint Car ranks Ethan Barrow scores his fourth straight and sixth overall Indiana Points championship using eleven top five finishes with four of them being feature wins to build his 41 point total. Dillan Baldwin takes the second spot with two wins in seven top fives while the 2021 champion Rod Henning takes third with one victory in his eight top fives.
Make it three straight and four overall Indiana Points Modified championships now for Derek Losh who stormed to the front with thirteen wins in fifteen top fives. After scoring just nine points in 2024, Bryce Shidler is the 2025 runner-up with eight wins in twelve top fives while last year's runner-up Tyler Loughmiller slips to third with five wins in thirteen top fives.
He doesn't do it consecutively, but Kyle Cummins takes the top spot for the third time in the non-wing Sprint Cars, the only state where we track this division. Cummins who is on the way to the USAC National title this year took nine wins in twenty-one top fives in Indiana this year and adds to his Indiana Points crowns from 2019 and 2022. Defending champion Tye Mihocko settles for the runner-up spot winning seven times in sixteen top fives while Jadon Rogers lands in third with four wins in nineteen top fives.
In the Late Models Tyler Cain repeats his Indiana Points title from last year winning seven times in fifteen top five outings. Devin Gilpin is eight points back in second with seven feature wins in twelve top fives while Skyller Lewis takes third with fourteen top fives, two of them being feature wins.
Finally, with the Limited Modified class making some guest appearances at the Lawrenceburg Speedway this year, we will recognize Carson Freeman as the Indiana Points champion winning three times in four top fives.
