A New Look For Heartland; Dirt Late Model State Points

If you haven't been there in awhile you need to check out the new look at Heartland Motorsports. Danny Howk's website has always been my first destination when I am looking for race results from around the region and his new layout looks fantastic!

It was good to see that some tracks were able to get their shows in last night although it had to be a chilly night for fans, drivers and crews alike. Unfortunately it sounds like the warm up that was originally expected for the weekend is now being pushed back a few days so race fans will need to bundle up as they head out to the tracks on Saturday and Sunday. I am still trying to decide where I will be going on Sunday night and I originally thought that the weather would not factor into that decision. But now, with low temperatures forecasted in the mid-30's and a north wind, one of those three choices holds an advantage. But I will probably still change my mind at least three more times before 2 p.m. tomorrow!

A big win for Mike Murphy Jr. at Davenport last night as he makes it two in a row and established himself as the man to beat now on the Deery Brothers Summer Series. We'll see how he does on the half-mile at West Liberty tonight before he returns to another high-banked short track on Sunday in Dubuque.

Sammy Swindell topped the World of Outlaws show in Sedalia last night adding to his point lead. It is amazing that at his age Sammy is still at the top of his game and may even be better now on a given night than he was in the past. The question now is will he continue to follow the Outlaw schedule and will he be able to hold up as that schedule gets busier during the summer months? The Outlaws move over to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, tonight and then they stage a rare mid-week event in April when they run at Farmer City, Illinois, next Wednesday. Then it is on to Eagle next Friday and Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.

Among all of the events on the schedule tonight is the debut of Toby Kruse at the Knoxville Raceway. Bundle up and support the track of your choice tonight and Sunday!
