Final Nebraska Points for 2019

The 2019 racing season has come to a close in the state of Nebraska and following are the state point standings as compiled using the same 5-point scale that is used for the All Iowa Points.

Cory Dumpert of York had a memorable campaign sharing the IMCA Late Model National championship with Iowa's Matt Ryan. Both drivers will also capture their respective "state points" title as well in 2019 and for Dumpert it is a return to the top of the Nebraska list as he was also the best in the state in 2016 and he was the Kansas Late Model champion in 2018. This year Cory scored eighteen feature wins as part of twenty-nine top five finishes on Nebraska tracks to easily outdistance runner-up Zach Zentner who posted sixteen top five finishes including five feature wins. Zentner was also the runner-up in 2018 just one point shy of Tad Pospisil who finished in a tie for fourth in the 2019 standings. The 2017 champion Josh Leonard tied for sixth this year.




Make it four years in a row now for Jordan Grabouski as the best Modified driver in the state under this point system as he and Anthony Roth went back and forth throughout season at the top of the standings. Grabouski posted thirty-five top five finishes that included twenty-one feature wins and that gave him a nineteen point edge over Roth who won eleven times in thirty-seven top five outings. Jacob Hobscheidt is a distant third.

After ranking third each of the last two seasons Shawn Harker climbs to the top of the Limited Modified standings on the strength of six feature wins and a state leading twenty-five top fives in the division. Matthew Andrews who was ninth in 2017 and fourth last rear takes the runner-up spot in 2019 winning eight times in twenty-one top five finishes while Sioux City Iowa's Cody Thompson, the 2018 All Iowa Points Champion, sits in third with ten feature wins on Nebraska tracks this year.

In the Winged Sprint Car standings that combines the 410's, 360's and the Racesaver 305's, Eagle's Tyler Drueke is the Nebraska state champion for the third time in four years after winning in 2016 and sharing the title with Jason Martin last year. Drueke's thirteen top five finishes were two more than any other driver and with five feature wins among them he tallied three more points than the runner-up Bob Dvorak. Six wins and three runner-up finishes at the Stuart Raceway added up to 42 points for Dvorak as Jason Martin who was also the 2017 champion finished third this season.
