It came as no Surprise that Terry McCarl would be the first promoter to figure out a way to put on a show during the pandemic when he paired up with Speed Shift TV to put on the Open Wheel Nationals at the Park Jefferson Speedway on April 25th. Without taking this bold step who knows how long everything would have been shut down, but by being the first to take the risk McCarl provided a path for other tracks and promoters to do the same allowing us to enjoy the sport despite the COVID restrictions.
T-Mac loves the sport, he has been around it since the day he was born and his two sons Austin and Carson are quickly following in his foot steps. Already a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Terry is still active as a driver, still capable of winning features and he has become one of the most innovative promoters in the industry. McCarl's twelve All Iowa Points championships are more than any other driver and even though four of those came before we switched the points scale from 20 to 5 he still dominates these Cumulative standings for the 410 class. McCarl's first state title came in 1994, he then won again in 1996 before going on an incredible seven year run from 1998 to 2004 before adding three more to his list in 2009, 2012 and 2014.
Scoring eight points in 2020, McCarl now leads six-time champion Mark Dobmeier (2006-08, 2010-11, 2013) by 323 points. Dobmeier remains comfortably in second after spending most of 2020 recovering from injuries suffered during an Outlaws race at Cedar Lake in early July. Sprint Car fans everywhere are hopefully that "Dynamite" can return to action in 2021.

With a greatly reduced number of weekly shows at Knoxville in 2020 Brian Brown did not have the opportunity to win his third straight All Iowa Points title but after finishing third behind Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet, Brown moves to third in the Cumulative standings breaking the tie with his uncle and seven-time champion Danny Lasoski (1986, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1993, 2015 and 2016).
The 2017 champion Kerry Madsen remains in fifth while the legendary Donny Schatz holds down sixth. Three Sioux Falls, South Dakota drivers are next in line with Dusty Zomer, 2014 360 champion Gregg Bakker and Justin Henderson while Ian Madsen joins his brother Kerry in the top ten.
The 2020 champion Kyle Larson moves to 42nd on this list while runner-up Brad Sweet is now 23rd.
