Midwest racing legend Roger Dolan passed away at the age of 87 this past Tuesday and with the news many of us are recalling fond memories and we are thankful that had the honor of watching him compete. As a young announcer in the 1980's I found Roger to be a man of few words, especially during an interview when he would be measured and concise. I know that I saw him smile more when he later watched the success of his son Ryan and we would often spot him in the stands and take the chance to say "hi".

A member of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame and a former NASCAR Weekly Racing Series National Champion, Roger is also a two-time All Iowa Points Champion and to honor him today I will give you the full final point standings for those championship seasons in 1985 and 1987. Once again though, I would bet that Roger took more joy in Ryan winning three straight All Iowa Points Modified championships from 2010 through 2012.
