After being edged out by just one point by Randy Lamar in what would be the final race of the season in the 2022 All Iowa Points chase, young Mike Smith of Lake City left no doubt this season absolutely running away with the Hobby Stock championship with an amazing thirty-seven feature wins in fifty-nine top five finishes. Mike's point total of 250 matches what his uncle Devin put up during one of his championship seasons in 2012, but comes up just one point short of the Hobby Stock record single year total of 251 set by Shannon Anderson in 2009.

Along with Devin, Mike's uncles Dustin and Donavon have also posted All Iowa Points titles while his father David currently ranks fourth on the Cumulative All Points list for Stock Cars from 2000 through 2023.
Chris Hovden had a stellar season winning twelve times in thirty-five top five finishes on All Iowa Points paying tracks to finish as the runner-up, plus he had several top finishes at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin, a track that goes just beyond the general "50 miles from an Iowa border" qualifier to be an AIP track. Hovden placed 27th in these standings last season.
Brandon Nielsen improved from a 16th place showing in 2022 to land in third this year winning eight times in his thirty-five top five showings. The 2020 champion Dustin Gulbrandson finished fourth and Dylan Clinton settles into fifth for the second year in a row.
The Hobby Stock Newcomer of the Year in 2023 is Beatrice, Nebraska, driver John Martinez who scored points on eight nights including five runner-up finishes placing him in the 79th position on this list.
