If you are not from southeast Iowa, you might not know just how good John Oliver Jr. has been in a Stock Car over the past ten years. Beginning in 2016 Oliver has scored more than 100 points, the benchmark for a "big season" using our standard 5-point scale with the All Iowa Points, seven times and twice he has eclipsed the 200 point level (2018 and 2025) with both resulting in an All Iowa Points Stock Car championship.
One of those sub-100 point totals came in 2019 when he made a run at the IMCA Modified National Rookie-of-the-Year title while still scoring 74 points in his Stock Car and in 2022 he took the first half of the season off to refresh and still came back to post a 43 point total. Oliver was the runner-up in these standing the past two seasons, coming up just four points short of Mike Nichols in 2024 and while his quest for the IMCA National championship this season came up just short against Kelly Shryock, those two driver swap positions here in the All Iowa Points.
Oliver posted twenty-three feature wins in an amazing fifty-two top five finishes on the season while Shryock had twenty-two victories in thirty-seven top fives. Kelly is a three-time All Iowa champion in the Modified division and he finished thirteenth in that division as well in 2025. Oliver also did double duty racing a Modified for veteran driver Dennis LaVeine at their home track of 34 Raceway scoring twenty-three points and coming in 84th in those standings.
Third goes to another driver who had a great season racing in two divisions on most nights as Dustin Griffiths had twelve feature wins in forty-two top fives in his Stock Car and he also finished eight in this year's Hobby Stock standings, the division where he was the AIP champion in 2014. Mike "Wahoo" Albertson takes the fourth spot while USRA competitor Myles Michehl comes in fifth. Cayden Carter is another two division star taking sixth here in the Stock Cars and he tied for tenth in the Modifieds. Braden Richards ands in seventh while three-time Stock Champion Dallon Murty is eighth here and sixth in his rookie year behind the wheel of a Late Model.
Justin Luinenberg and Kodey Miles finish in a tie for ninth, while the "Newcomer of the Year", or the driver who has scored points in the division for the first time ever, is Denton, Nebraska, driver Mason Richards who tied for 74th in the final standings below.
