If you have been following along with the recaps for 2025 so far, and over the past several years, it is not uncommon for an All Iowa Points champion to have also been just shy of taking the IMCA National title in that division during the same season. Nobody knows that better than Brayton Carter who has been the All Iowa Points Limited Modified champion each of the past two years only to finish second to another driver for the IMCA Northern Sport Mod National title. In 2025, Carter was able to achieve both and this, his third straight and fourth overall AIP championship comes in record breaking fashion.
With forty-four feature wins in sixty-three top five finishes Brayton's point total of 279 is the most ever in a single season since the 5-point scale was established in 2000, breaking the previous record of 255 established by Dallon Murty in a Stock Car in 2021. The driver in the second spot here had a phenomenal season as well as Dylan Van Wyk used twenty-eight feature victories in forty-four top five finishes to score 202 points, a total that would usually be more than enough earn an AIP crown. Both of these drivers are based out of Oskaloosa, but there appeared to be plenty of strategic scheduling going on to race at different tracks for mush of the year.
Jarrett Franzen joins the podium in third as he continues to be the driver to beat in the east central part of the state winning thirteen times in forty-seven top five finishes. Fourth goes to Dan Hovden, two-time champion Tony Olson stands in fifth and sixth goes to our Newcomer of the Year Mike Smith who moved to the division after winning the Hobby Stock division each of the past two years. Seventh is the two-time South Dakota Points champion Willy Kirk, Colton Livezy and Matt Avila finish tied for ninth and Jake Sachau wraps up the top ten.
