Final North Dakota Points for 2017

North Dakota is the first of several states that I track points on that has completed its racing season for 2017 and following are the complete standings for the divisions followed. These points are tabulated in the same manner as the All Iowa Points using a 5-point scale on features only and, as I did last season, following the race at the dome in St. Louis I will combine all of the states together to present the "Best of the Midwest" for 2017. First though, let's take a look at North Dakota.

For the second year in a row Dustin Strand tops the Late Model charts as he won seven features as part of sixteen top five finishes.

The newly crowned 2017 IMCA Modified National Champion Jason Wolla dominated our state points as well for the second year in a row outscoring runner-up Travis Hagen by 70 points and more than tripling the score of the third-place driver Marlyn Seidler. Wolla tallied twenty-two feature wins in his home state and thirty-seven top five finishes.

Lance Schill is this year's Limited Modified champion on the strength of  thirteen feature wins. Schill tied for second in the 2016 standings with Erik Laudenschlager who is once again the runner-up. Sadly the seventh ranked driver Robbie Conway passed away from a heart attack late in the season.

Austin Pierce takes the top spot in the Sprint Car standings with twenty-one top five finishes and three feature wins. Pierce was the runner-up to Mark Dobmeier in the 2016 standings.
