Midwest Pavement Late Model Points for 2017

I always have to get my fix for pavement Late Models in at least once a year and to make sure that I know who most of the drivers are I also track their events throughout the season using the five-point scale similar to the All Iowa Points. For these two divisions though I combine the asphalt tracks in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin into one grouping and my one pavement race this year ended up being more of a demo derby.

In the Super Late Models Ty Majeski rises to the top after finishing behind Dalton Zehr and Casey Johnson in 2016. Majeski racked up twelve feature wins in eighteen top fives in Super Late Model competition in 2017 and he also had three feature wins in the Late Model class. Zehr is this year's runner-up with five wins.

Jacob Goede ranked fifth in the Super Late Model class in 2016, but when his home track the Elko Speedway dropped the class this year, Goede converted to the Late Models where he won nine times and had twenty-four top five to put him at the top of these points in 2017. Last year's champion Michael Bilderback was second also taking nine victories in nineteen top five runs.

There was to be one more pavement race this coming weekend, but the Golden Sands Speedway has canceled due to the weather.
