Final North Dakota Points for 2019

With three of the four divisions coming down to just three points or less for the championship the final North Dakota Points for 2019 are in, tabulated using the same 5-point scale that we use for the All Iowa Points.

In the Late Models Dustin Strand makes it four years in a row at the top of these standings, but this was a tight one as he edged out Shane Edginton by just one point and Brad Seng by two markers. Strand actually had four fewer top five finishes than his two challengers at fifteen, but with five wins and five runner-up finishes his points added up to another championship. Edginton had two wins on the season while Seng won four times on North Dakota tracks. It was the third straight year for Seng to be on the podium as Cole Schill and Mike Balcaen tied for fourth. Note that World of Outlaws Sprint Car star Donny Schatz made the most of his few Late Model starts winning three features and finishing seventh in the standings.

Oregon transplant Tom Berry Jr. posted twenty-three top five finishes that included nine feature wins to take the Modified state title by just one point over Casey Arneson. Berry who now lists Newburg, North Dakota, as his hometown finished seventh in last year's standings. Arneson improved from fourth in 2018 to second this year on the strength of nine wins and twenty-two top fives. Travis Hagen continued a good three year run ranking third in 2019 after being the runner-up to Jason Wolla in 2017 and taking fifth last year. Marlyn Seidler and Austin Arneson completed the top five.

Kelly Henderson had the most comfortable cushion this year as he was sixteen points better than both Lucas Rodin and Robby Rosselli to earn his second straight Limited Modified title. Henderson, who also finished third in 2017, scored eight feature wins as part of his twenty-three top five finishes. Rodin racked up seven wins and Rosselli took three checkered flags as they tied for second. Erik Laudenschlager was second in 2017, third in 2018 and finished fourth in 2019 while Darren Medler, Nate Reinke and the 2017 champion Lance Schill tied for fifth.

With five more top five finishes than runner-up Mark Dobmeier, Wade Nygaard earned his second straight North Dakota Points Sprint Car championship with a three point edge. Nygaard's fifteen top fives included three feature wins while Dobmeier was a feature race winner six times and finished second on four occasions. The 2017 champion Austin Pierce finished in the third spot this year with Jade Hastings and Nick Omdahl next in line.
