It goes without saying that 2020 was an odd season with a late start, tracks shutting down early and events altered because of Covid-19 and the return of Husets, but one thing remained the same and that was the domination of the 360 Winged Sprint Car division by Jack Dover.
The driver from Springfield, Nebraska was an eight time feature winner in his sixteen top five finishes allowing him to cruise to his fourth straight and sixth overall All Iowa Points 360 Sprint Car title. This is his second three year run as he also was the champion each season from 2010 through 2012. Carson McCarl was a distant second with two wins in eight top five finishes while Eric Lutz who shared the 2010 title with Dover finished in a tie for third with Paul Nienheiser. The Newcomer of the Year in the 360 division, or the driver earning points in the class for the first time is veteran driver Lynton Jeffrey who finished tenth while the best rookie of the division was Elliott Amdahl.

The race for the All Iowa Points title in the 305 division went right down to the final events of the season with South Dakota driver Dusty Ballanger holding off two time champion Tyler Drueke by seven points to earn his first title in this division. Ballanger had three feature wins, two of them coming at the tail end of the season as he finished in the top five seventeen times. Ballanger was also the All Iowa Points 360 Sprint Car champion in 2003. The 2016 and 2019 champion, Drueke is the 2020 runner-up on the strength of six wins in fifteen top five finishes. Stu Snyder matched those numbers as he joined the podium in third. The Newcomer of the Year for the 305's is Micah Slendy who finished in tenth.
I would have never thought that Kyle Larson would ever win an All Iowa Points championship, but his dominating season on dirt swung through Iowa and tracks just outside of the state enough to put him at the top of the 410 list as he had seven wins and one second place finish to total 39 points. So here is a bit of trivia for you, Larson joins the 2007 Limited Modified champion Brett Moffitt as the only two All Iowa Points champions who have raced at the NASCAR Cup level.

World of Outlaws regular Brad Sweet is the runner-up with three wins in ten top five finishes and Brian Brown lost his opportunity to win his third straight All Iowa Points honor when the remainder of the Knoxville Raceway season was scrapped after the One and Only event in August. Brown had three wins, three second place finishes and a fourth to make up his point total. The top Newcomer in the 410's is Pennsylvania's Brock Zearfoss while the true rookies were Sawyer Phillips and Tucker Klaasmeyer.
