Seth Scholl Is The Fourth Out Of State Driver To Earn An All Iowa Points Four Cylinder Title

Again proving that you don't have to have an Iowa address to win an All Iowa Points title Holmen, Wisconsin's, Seth Scholl made the most of his trips across the border in 2019 to win his first All Iowa Points Championship in the Four Cylinder division. Illinois drivers Austen Becerra and Kimberly Abbott were the champions in 2014 and 2016 respectively while Minnesota's Nate Coopman was a two-time champion in 2009 and 2010.

Racing primarily at West Union and Decorah, Scholl won fourteen feature races where there were ten or more cars in attendance and scored points on thirty nights during the 2019 season. (Note: This is the only division where the point-scale changes based upon the car count due to the fact that several tracks continue to run the class despite persistently low numbers. 3 to 5 cars, the winner only receives 1 point. 6 to 9 cars, a 3-point scale is used and 10 or more cars the standard 5-point All Iowa Points scale is used.) Scholl secured the title when two-time defending champion Barry Taft sold his Four Cylinder in August and purchased a Sport Mod that he completed the season in. Taft would still finish second here with five full field feature wins scoring points on thirty-one race nights.

Oliver Monson ranks third in the final standings hampered in part by the small car counts that he faced throughout most of the season. Monson scored points on thirty-two race nights and while at least seventeen of those were feature wins only eight of them were against fields of ten or more, with some only netting him one point. Quad Cities area driver Nick Proehl made a late season charge to finish in the fourth spot as he captured twelve full field feature wins in just twenty-four nights where he scored points. Rounding out the top five is Nebraska's Ramsey Meyer who only scored points on nineteen nights with fifteen of them being full field feature wins.

The 2019 "Newcomer of the Year", a driver earning points in the division for the first time ever in the division is Minnesota's Justin Schilitzche who tied for 31st in the final standings with honorable mention going to Tyler Fiebelkorn (tied for 38th) and Jade Lange (tied for 52nd).
